             Hichki Story

Naina Mathur(Rani Mukherjee) is an  aspiring teacher who suffers  from Tourette Syndrome. After  several Interviews  and numerous rejections, she lands her dream job as a full-time  teacher in an elite school. The class she has been assigned though comprises of defiant and impish students who can't seem to keep out of trouble. Naina overcomes all challenges to help her students realise their true potential.

A Teacher can be a mentor, a guide  and in rare cases, even a friend. Hichki is the story of one such teacher. What makes Naina (Rani Mukherjee) different from other teacher is her  Tourette Syndrome. She makes hicks and click noises due to a neurological disorder that she explains with spirit and wit. Naina Mathur (Rani Mukherjee) never allowed it to come in the way of her teaching ambitions. After facing rejections from 18 schools and sitting at home for 5 years, Naina finally gets the chance to be a teacher in-  St Noker's. However the Class she id appointed to teach, class F, is a division other teachers don't even want to touch and looked with derision by the rest of school, especially by senior teacher and trustee Wadia(Neeraj Kabi, a stern science teacher). The class 9F consists with 14 kids, thess kids are a part of the "Right to Education Initiative", thus landing up in an elite school, where most kids and teachers have a hoily air of 'high class'. No one gives Naina a chance to succeed with her bunch of no-good students. It's a fresh concept, especially from the perspective of people with disorders. Just because you're not normal that doesn't mean you can't fit in or you can't succeed.

At first, the class was  quite hostile to their new teacher and finds ways to mock her Speech  defect and play pranks on her, but soon enough, Naina Mathur uses the "Out-of-the-box learning" tool within the school environment, Through that Naina wins them over slowly  and shows the rest of the school that "there are no bad students, just bad teachers". The film is very emotional, motivational, engaging, insightful and entertaining.

1)Great Lessons that we learn from The Movie (Hichki) :

1.Disorders can make your body functionality week but it has nothing to do with you dreams:-

As Naina Mathur (Rani) says during one of her school interviews, “Tourette is in my speech, not in my intellect". The message is loud and clear, physical disability can hamper normal functioning of your body but they can’t affect your dreams or will to conquer them. Naina Mathur’s life story teaches us just that.

2.Rejections are not the end of life, they prepare us more better and work towards a bigger goal :-

After around 19 schools that turned Naina Mathur down, she found the job she always wanted. Even when she was going through rejections, she never compromised on her dream of becoming a teacher.

3.Sometimes, it is during difficult times in our lives that we realise what our strengths are:-

Naina Mathur had to face a lot of turbulence during her teaching tenure but she didn’t give up. Instead, her unique teaching methods became her strengths. No matter how difficult the phases of your life get, always remember that you’re tougher than all these difficulties.

4.There are no bad  children, only bad Teachers :-

Naina Mathur’s class 9F was treated as "municipality garbage" by other teachers who refused to believe in the kids but thanks to Naina who taught everyone a lesson that was much needed. Kids are never bad and they can always be moulded into better people.

5.Kids are like wet clay, you can actually transform them into anything by showing them the right direction :-

With Hichki, one important point that we all get here is, that kids are not stubborn and it’s all about teaching them right values at the right time. From that film we got to learn parenting and schooling is absolutely right.

6.Never underestimate people on their inadequacies:-

Naina’s section of students face extreme nastiness from others in the group but the whole team ends up passing in exam, proving that no matter from where you come, you can always end up achieving great things in life. They might be kids from the slum and their challenges were harder than others who were born with a silver spoon but they end up victorious and that gives us a message loud and clear: Never underestimate the power of hard work and will to achieve.

2) Learning For Teachers:

  1. Be strict with children only when needed. Children like to  have fun and be playful.
  2. "Build relationships with students........" Teachers  need  to get to know their students and build trust, because if a child doesn't trust his  or her teacher, the teacher won't be able to teach the child.
  3. Understand the Root Cause of a student's behaviour.
  4. Alternative ways of teaching are required for different types of students. To unlock the hidden talent of students, The teacher must use innovative and unconventional teaching methodologies.
  5. Teachers must never give up on their students. Teacher need to be Role Model  and show their kids to never give up on pursuing their dreams.
  6. A Teacher must bring passion to classroom. They must make learning  come to life and engage students to be the best persons they can be.
  7. "Teaching is the best  profession in the World",so it is the remainder for all teachers that do not differentiate  between rich and poor kids, everyone is equally talented.

Conclusion:-

"The tale at the heart of Hichki  is definitely inspirational."
Hichki is a warm tale that will inspire the underdog in you. We can see here how a teacher plays an important role in the life of students. Here, a teacher has changed the life of students
